Listening exercises
Exercise 3: In groups, students must tell orally which solutions to the diseases did the doctor say in the video.
Speaking
Teacher explains inductively the use of can and can't by telling the following situations:
Speaking exercise:
In groups, they have 3 dices

First dice with the 6 illnesses.

Second dice with adjects to use with very.

Third dice with actions they can or can’t do.
They must roll the dice and say:

I have ….and I am very… I can’t...but I can……
Roleplay in pairs: One student is a doctor and the other a patient.

One student has a flashcard with the disease and symptoms.

Other student has to say things he/she can and can’t do.
Then, they change roles.
Reading
Teacher shows a poster about healthy habits and explains each one of them and its importance.

Reading comprehension:

Students read three texts about Queen Elizabeth II, the Guard and Mister Clock’s habits.

Students must tell which character has health habits.

In groups, they must speak about how the others can have healthy habits and write the ideas.

Writing
Teacher reads the books "Sick Simon" by Dan Krall to learn about taking care fo our health.
The whole class talks about the book and thinks what is Simon trying to teach us with his story.
Writing exercise: students must complete a self-care poster with habits to take care of their physical health that appear in the book and they must add more ideas.
Promotion of reading + Education in values
Whole class reads the book "Ruby's worry” written by Tom Percival and answers some comprehension questions.

Moral: We should talk about our worries to feel better, try to solve them and sometimes see that it isn't as big as we thought.
Topics: friendship, communication, problem solving and emotions.
Aim: promotion of reading
Students write what their worries are in a monster.
Project
Problem: Queen Elizabeth II wants to know how healthy 3rd grade is and if the students follow the health habits. She gives an example of a question to create the survey:

In groups, students create questions to know if they are health.

Later, the groups share their questions with the rest of the class. All the class together see the ones that are more repeated and create a questionnaire with the adverbs of frequency (always, sometimes, and never). The following picture is an example:
ICT (Information & Communication Tecnhology)
Students will do a survey to know how healthy they are.
First, in pairs they will ask the questions to the peers in the group.
Later, they will ask the other groups. Each person in the group will ask another person for the other groups.

Individually, with all the information gained in the questionnaires, each person in the group counts the number for each person interviewed.
